Exam Reimbursement for US Veterans

Helping US veterans achieve success in post-military careers

Exam Reimbursement

AWS is committed to helping US servicemen and servicewomen advance their post-military careers. We’ve worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to make AWS Certification exam fees eligible for VA reimbursement under any GI Bill with an education provision.

Why AWS Certification?

Career transitions are never easy, but cloud IT presents one promising path forward—especially when industry surveys show that these skills remain in short supply. AWS Certifications recognize IT professionals with the technical expertise to design, deploy, and operate applications and infrastructure on AWS.

How Reimbursement Works

Any qualifying US veteran covered under a GI Bill can submit a reimbursement request to the VA for AWS Certification exams taken after December 10, 2015. Qualified candidates need to schedule an exam and then apply for reimbursement using VA Form 22-803.

No. There’s no limit to the number of exams you can take. The VA can reimburse you for each exam attempt. You’ll also be reimbursed for retaking the same exam, as long as you wait 14 days from your previous attempt and don’t retake the same exam more than 3 times in any 12-month period (per the standard AWS retake policy).
